General Pathologist | Surgical Pathologist (M89612) VCU Health - Richmond, VA The Department of Pathology at Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor (commensurate with experience) with expertise in Surgical Pathology. Duties & Responsibilities: Clinical : Day-to-day sign-out of cases in academic surgical pathology subspecialty services. The surgical pathology service encounters a wide variety of neoplastic and non-neoplastic conditions. Service : Participation in tumor boards and other conferences with clinical colleagues is required. Participation in departmental, institutional, and national committees when necessary. Teaching : Participation in the educational activities of Anatomic Pathology: (1) didactic presentations, rounds, and seminars involving residents, medical and graduate students, and dental and allied health students; (2) continuing education for faculty, nurses, allied health personnel, and community physicians; and (3) development of workshops at the local, state, and national level. Research : Scholarship primarily in Pathology through presentations at national meetings, developing clinical research collaborations, contributions to peer-reviewed scientific literature, and active participation in appropriate professional organizations is required. The faculty member will report to and work closely with the Division Chief to further the mission and vision of the Department of Pathology. Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications MD, MD/PhD, or equivalent degree Board eligibility or Board certification by the American Board of Pathology in Anatomic Pathology. A scholarly record of publication in books and peer-reviewed journals, and presentations at national meetings Eligible for unrestricted medical licensure in Virginia Demonstrated ability to work in and foster an environment of respect, professionalism, and civility with a population of faculty, staff, and students from all backgrounds and experiences, or a commitment to do so as a faculty member at VCU #J-18808-Ljbffr
