Assistant Grocery Manager

Position Overview The Grocery Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting the department manager with all aspects of daily operations and activities of the department. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality, freshness and product assortment is maintained throughout the grocery department(s). This person will be receiving, stocking and rotating product, facing product, taking special orders, training new associates and providing exceptional customer service. Job Description Availability: Open Shift: Morning, Day, Evening (Varies Per Store Needs) Schedule: Available Upon Interview Job Type: Full-Time Location: Piggly Wiggly - 149 Wells St, Darlington, WI 53530 Description Follows established departmental and store policies and procedures Assists the Grocery Manager with the successful operation of the department Ensures the quality and freshness of all products and services provided Responsible for maintaining the appropriate product assortment and inventory levels for the department Receives, stores and stocks a wide variety of products Orders product to meet the needs of the grocery departments based on past and projected sales Pulls out of date product from the shelves Ensures company standards for safety, sanitation and productivity are maintained Teaches, mentors and educates associates to help them be successful members of the team Performs other job-related duties as assigned by Department Manager and/or Store Manager Consistent and daily interaction with store associates, customers, and vendors Travel Required: No Environment Store: Grocery Warehouse (50F to 90F) Skills Specialized Knowledge: Basic computer skills Special Skills: Ability to read, write and perform basic math functions Physical abilities: Requires standing, walking and bending throughout the entire work day and the ability to regularly required to grasp, push, pull, carry, stoop, twist, crouch, and reach; perform tasks requiring repetitive motion and eye, hand and foot coordination; hear and respond to customer inquiries Years Of Experience 0-2: 1-2 years prior grocery operations or retail experience preferred Qualifications High School Diploma - General Studies Piggly Wiggly ®is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
