Job Position: Quality Assurance/Control

Location: Summerville, SC 29483

Pay Rate: $23.00/hr or depending on experience

Shift: Mon - Fri (7:00am to 4:30pm)

Coastal Employment is currently seeking a Welder Quality Control (QC) Technician for a client located in Summerville, SC. This position plays a key role in ensuring welded components and finished products meet established quality, safety, and production standards. The ideal candidate will have experience inspecting weld quality, reading blueprints, and maintaining strong attention to detail in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Responsibilities:

Perform visual inspections of welded assemblies and fabricated components to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications.
Inspect weld quality for defects including cracks, porosity, undercutting, incomplete fusion, and dimensional inconsistencies.
Review blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions to verify production accuracy.
Utilize measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, gauges, and inspection equipment.
Conduct first-piece, in-process, and final inspections throughout production.
Document inspection findings and maintain accurate quality records and reports.
Work closely with welders and production teams to identify and resolve quality concerns.
Verify completed products meet applicable safety and manufacturing standards.
Assist with corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications:

Previous experience in welding inspection, quality control, manufacturing, fabrication, or a related industrial environment preferred.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, weld symbols, and technical drawings.
Strong understanding of welding processes and quality standards.
Experience using measuring and inspection tools.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
Comfortable working in a production and manufacturing environment.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience performing QC inspections in metal fabrication or industrial manufacturing environments.
Welding certifications or quality inspection certifications are a plus.
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards within industrial manufacturing environments.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
Ability to work in varying temperatures within a manufacturing setting.
Frequent standing, bending, reaching, and walking throughout shift.
