The Family Health Services Clinics of the Health and Social Services Department is currently recruiting for Dentist. The mission of Family Health Services (FHS) is to provide superior, comprehensive, primary medical and dental care in order to improve the health and quality of life of Solano County residents. The Position Dentists provide dental services to patients at various County clinics. This class is distinguished from the class of Dentist Manager in that the latter manages the County-wide dental health program. The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill full‑time and part‑time regular, limited‑term or extra‑help positions as vacancies occur or the need arises. Education and Experience Requirements Considerable experience in dentistry coupled with additional experience and education or training in public health services that demonstrates requisite knowledge, competency, and ability. Typical qualifying experience: one year experience in the practice of dentistry in a public agency or private practice. Licensure Possession of a valid and unrestricted license to practice dentistry in the State of California issued by the Board of Dental Examiners. Possession of or ability to obtain a valid Class C California Driver’s License may be required. Independent travel will be required. Selection Process Next application review deadline: 5 May 2026. Applications will be reviewed bi‑weekly after this date. Based on the information provided, qualified applicants may be invited for further examination and will be pre‑scheduled by the Department of Human Resources or be invited to self‑schedule. All applicants meeting the minimum qualifications are not guaranteed advancement through any subsequent phase. A minimum score of 70% is required to continue in the selection process, unless otherwise announced. Background and reference checks will be conducted after a contingent job offer is accepted. Veterans Preference Points Applicants who served at least 181 consecutive days of active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States and received an honorable discharge or a general discharge under honorable conditions are eligible. A DD‑214 showing the discharge type must be submitted by the application review deadline. Veterans with a service‑connected disability may receive additional points.
