Sr. Network Engineer

Salary: $100,000 - 140,000 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree plus 12 years of relevant network experience, or an associates degree plus 15 years, or 20 years of comparable experience.
• We require an active IAM II certification at start of employment under DoD 8140 requirements; acceptable credentials include CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP.
• We need working knowledge of VMware, NetApp, and firewalls/switches.
• We need hands-on experience with Linux, Windows, and Mac OSX environments.
• We require experience with Bash, PowerShell, PowerCLI, or API-based scripting.
• We require familiarity with STE/STN requirements, STIG/security mandates, and Nessus Security Center.
• We require a current and active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph.

• We lead the engineering effort for datacenters that operate multi-domain, cross-platform networks.
• We evaluate and design an updated Hosted Desktop Infrastructure solution for developer environments to satisfy new security constraints.
• We install, configure, and support a VMware vCloud environment.
• We design and deploy storage solutions using multiple NetApp clusters to replace end-of-life systems.
• We set up and maintain Cisco UCS hardware for the virtual environment.
• We install, configure, and support mobile cellular and wireless networks, including switches, routers, gateways, and functional servers, at campus or enterprise scale.
• We implement a Mac OSX virtual environment for development testing.
• We build and maintain a GUI-based deployment server that lets administrators choose Windows or Linux desktop installations from the same application.
• We provide guidance to IT peers and junior staff on complex network design, monitoring, maintenance, and implementation.
• We coordinate and integrate the work of other IT professionals.
• We evaluate technical and business needs to recommend suitable hardware, software, and service solutions.
• We research and compare approaches used by other organizations, including higher education institutions, through participation in professional groups.

As a Senior Network Engineer/Architect, we work with customers, Integrated Product Teams, and vendors to implement and comply with advanced infrastructure capabilities through Data Center and Compute Services. The position also includes physical requirements such as spending about half the time in a stationary position, moving within the office as needed, and communicating frequently with co-workers, management, and customers, including presentations.
