Responsibilities Safely and efficiently perform welds of varying degrees on all types of surface coal mining equipment. Ensure all work complies with federal and state regulatory requirements to maintain equipment availability and reliability and support mine safety, cost, productivity and environmental goals. Qualifications High school diploma, GED, or proof of equivalent. Three years journeyman welding experience. Certified in both SMAW (single electrode) and FCAW (wire) welding for 1" plate with qualifications ranging from 1/8" to unlimited thickness, meeting AWS and ANSI/AWS D1.1 standards. Must successfully pass a written test and a practical welding test. Physical Requirements This position requires a post‑offer, pre‑placement physical capacity screening by a licensed physical therapist to confirm the candidate can meet the physical demands of the job.
