Job Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive assessments of patients, including thorough physical exams and careful evaluations of medical histories.
- Assist in diagnosing surgical conditions through detailed analysis of imaging studies and laboratory results.
- Work in close partnership with surgeons to develop and implement tailored surgical treatment plans for patients.
- Provide intraoperative assistance by preparing operating rooms, ensuring the correct positioning of patients, and effectively handing surgical instruments during procedures.
- Deliver outstanding pre- and post-operative care, including administering medications, performing wound care, aiding in discharge planning, and educating patients and families.
- Master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Experience in clinical rotations with a preference for surgical emphasis.
- Active and unrestricted PA-C certification.
- Certification in BLS and ACLS is necessary.
- State licensure (or eligibility) to practice as a Physician Assistant.
- In-depth understanding of surgical principles and adherence to sterile techniques.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret diagnostic tests and contribute to complex clinical decision-making.
- Exceptional communication skills and an ability to build rapport with patients and colleagues alike.
