About the role
The Financial Services Representative is responsible for the growth and maintenance of the Bank’s consumer lending portfolio, approves consumer loans up to a defined limit, builds relationships with prospective clients, and offers solutions that match their needs. This role takes ownership of the Consumer Loan Portfolio, and is primarily responsible for driving growth in that area.
This position is located in Sturgis, SD. It is not a remote position.
What you will do
- Provides courteous attention to customers promoting satisfied and long-term financial relationships while contributing to the overall profitability of the bank.
- Ensures customers receive timely and high-quality customer service. Greets and addresses customers with respect and by name.
- Drives consumer loan growth through networking, officer calls, and assisting current clientele.
- Opens and updates consumer deposit accounts.
- Evaluates client/applicant’s credit to determine appropriate lending decisions based on company risk-tolerance levels.
- Determines value or status of collateral as necessary during loan application process.
- Develops an understanding of internal bank policies, as well as a strong understanding of banking regulations.
- Possesses the ability to assist with bank duties related to supporting the commercial loan portfolio as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
What you will need
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field of study preferred.
- 2+ years Banking experience preferred.
- Understanding of banking regulations required, training provided.
- Valid MLO certification strongly desired.
