Assistant Manager

As an Applebee's® Assistant Manager, you will be engaged in all aspects of the day-to-day operations at the restaurant. You are responsible for getting guests and staff passionate about their experience every day at Applebee's®. You will need to be team leader, excellent problem solver, handle stress and rise above. You will work hard, but have an outstanding time doing it!

Essential duties and responsibilities include:

• Ensuring timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit.
• Cultivating a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs.
• Ensuring the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff.
• Ensuring guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards.
• Maintaining departmental inventory levels.
• Ensuring product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks.
• Effectively scheduling employees to meet sales demands.
• Maintaining effective safety and security programs.
• Promoting and leading restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation.
• Performing routine maintenance and immediately reporting to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs.
• Promoting quality recruitment and referrals of potential team member and management candidates.
• Promoting Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers.
• Helping maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems.
• Participating in the constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation, and contributing to the completion of written evaluations.
• Assessing the efficiency of employees, providing fair feedback on a regular basis, and continuously working with employees on their areas of development.
• Monitoring acceptable employee performance and documenting situations that require or could lead to disciplinary or corrective action.
• Assurance of compliance with company policies, practices and procedures.
• Responsible for controlling cost in assigned department.
• Compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines.
• Driving bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the AD/GM's request and is accountable for completion.
• Responsible for preparing and submitting accurate daily paperwork.
• Assurance that sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards.
• Providing a role model for managers and employees.
• Developing self on all store related technology.
• Must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed when in a restaurant. This includes cooking on the line, expo, seating guests, bartending, etc.
• Using the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies.

Education and experience:

• At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
• Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications also a plus

Compensation: Applebee's® Assistant Managers: $20.98 to $27.27 per hour, which is approximately $60,000 to $78,000 annually based on a 50-hour work week. Potential for monthly bonus, where applicable by location.

Physical standards:

• Work various shifts ranging in hours, including weekends.
• Stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to ten (10) hours in length.
• Safely lift pots, pans, glassware, boxes, etc. up to 50 pounds in weight.
• Read and write to facilitate communication. Must possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment.
