BAS Field Programmer/Engineer (Sacramento Branch)

BAS Field Programmer/EngineerAir Systems is seeking an experienced BAS Field Programmer/Engineer with expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS) to create Controls Programs and Systems Databases in Sacramento, CA. This role involves working with our clients on creating a database of control programs and systems, programming, and installing the Control Systems for the clients' buildings. The BAS Field Programmer will facilitate documentation of systems' compliance with design. Strong leadership, effective communication, and a focus on client satisfaction are key to success. If you excel at BAS drawings, reviewing documentation, and complex challenges, this role is perfect for you.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform thorough review of the project documentation wholistically (as a whole) including plans and specifications, schedule, control drawings, RFIs, equipment submittals, control drawings, sequence of operations, etc. for comprehensive understanding of the projectDesign and build systems database, configuration, graphics, programming, etc. for sequences as provided by the project engineers, project specifications, or other applicable sourcesPerform field building automation system start-up point to point, sequence testing, loop tuning, pre- functional testing, and functional performance testingProvide information and support for other contractors for proper equipment parameter start-up setting (ie. Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) setting, Chiller setting, etc), integration start-up, test and balance and other project requirement on project siteVerify correct trends, alarms, annunciation, and other actions by equipment, devices, panels, and annunciators of special systems and controls projectsProvide troubleshooting support to solve installation and building operation issuesProvide and complete project documentation including RFI, submittals, MOP, meeting minutes, and important document filing in job folder as necessaryProvide and complete start-up documentation including daily logs, check out logs, Title 24, tracking logs, commissioning documents, punch lists, red-line as-built, etc. as required for assigned projectsIdentifies and resolves potential project issuesAttend meetings including internal and meetings with customer and other trades, etc. as required for assigned projectsAssist in turnover of projects from construction team to service teamComplete time sheets, time and materials work orders, and other paperwork required for this position in an accurate and timely mannerProvide input to others as requested or required to assist in the accurate estimation, design, installation, start up, commissioning, and training for building systemsDevelop and maintain clear and professional communication with co-workers and clients.Build and nurture client relationships to ensure satisfaction and foster repeat business.Follow and uphold established Air Systems Management procedures.Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.Qualifications:Minimum 3+ Years Direct Digital Controls (DDC) systems programming, startup, and commissioning experienceTechnical degree in HVAC or Electronics or an undergraduate degree in Electrical or Mechanical engineering related studies is preferredKnowledge of ALC Controls, Distech Controls, Niagara certification, and/or other DDC controlsStrong knowledge of MS Office Suite, MS Windows, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, file structure, basic TCP/IP network structureStrong knowledge of DDC, HVAC systems/operations and electric/electronic circuitry including reading and interpreting construction blue prints, electrical and electronic diagram/schematics, and sequence of operationsExperience with programming and able to configure and debug computer and networking problemsAbility to work with electronic equipment such as volt meters, amp meters, oscilloscopes, etcClear and concise ability to communicate verbally and in writingExcellent teamwork, problem solving, interpersonal, organization, and customer relations skillsAbility to understand empathetically the issues and perceptions others have and to creatively and successfully work through these issues to achieve a successful outcome and customer and employee satisfactionAbility to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environmentBe able to lift and carry ladders, drawings, personal computers, material, etc.Be able to spend significant time standing and walking, climb several flights of stairs or ladders, kneel, stoop, and/or crawl throughout a typical day on a construction siteMaintain a satisfactory driving record which, per Air Systems' vehicle policy, allows the individual to drive a company vehicleAbility to travel to job sites for DDC programming, startup, and Cx activitiesCreative use of skills and resources to get the job done and have a strong awareness of Air Systems culture and the culture of the industry in which we workBenefits:Comprehensive health coverage (medical, dental, vision, prescription).Telehealth access and HSA/FSA options.Employer-paid Life, Accident, and Disability Insurance: 1.5 times your salary.Generous paid time off, with increases each year + 10 paid holidays.Opportunities for professional growth through educational assistance and career development programs.A flexible work environment and culture that prioritizes team collaboration, work-life balance, and personal well-being.Why Air Systems?At Air Systems, we believe in fostering an environment of growth, integrity, and respect.
