Nephrologist – Independent Practice Track (MedCBO Supported) MedCBO, Inc. Birmingham, Alabama, United States Job Overview This is an independent practice opportunity for a nephrologist who wants to own and operate their practice while receiving structured operational support from MedCBO for the non‑clinical business functions. The physician will maintain full clinical authority, govern patient care policies, and make all clinical decisions. MedCBO will provide non‑clinical services such as revenue cycle management, billing, payer contracting, technology platform, credentialing, HR, and supply‑chain coordination. Physician Responsibilities Provide medical care within the specialty scope of nephrology. Develop professional relationships within the medical community. Coordinate payer credentialing with MedCBO participation as required. Determine clinical services offered and manage clinical quality and patient experience. Administrative Support Provided by MedCBO Practice formation coordination. Billing and collections management. Payer contract negotiation. Financial infrastructure and reporting. Operational workflows and staffing systems. Technology platform and implementation. Requirements MD or DO with an unrestricted license in good standing in the intended state. Board Certified or Board Eligible in nephrology. Eligible for hospital and/or facility privileges where applicable. Ability to obtain professional liability coverage at standard market rates. No current limitations, exclusions, or disciplinary restrictions preventing independent practice. Interest in the independent practice model. Preferred Desire for practice ownership. Community‑based care interest. Leadership or program development interest. Location Multiple U.S. markets available (urban, suburban, and rural). Physician selects the market, subject to licensure.
