Tax & Accounting Professional (Part-Time)

A growing public accounting firm is seeking a Tax & Accounting Professional to join its collaborative team. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with small business and individual clients while gaining exposure to tax preparation, bookkeeping, and client accounting services.

This position is part-time, averaging 2530 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional hours during tax season and other peak periods. The role is primarily onsite initially, with the potential for a hybrid schedule once established and comfortable in the position.

The ideal candidate will have a few years of accounting and/or tax experience, enjoy working with clients, and be comfortable managing a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced but supportive environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual and business tax returns
• Assist with bookkeeping and client accounting services using QuickBooks Online
• Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records
• Support clients with day-to-day accounting questions and needs
• Assist with payroll and sales tax functions as needed
• Help organize and maintain client documentation
• Provide general administrative support to the accounting and tax team
• Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure timely and accurate client service

Qualifications

• 2+ years of accounting, bookkeeping, or tax preparation experience preferred
• Experience with QuickBooks Online strongly preferred
• Knowledge of individual and business tax returns
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and client service abilities
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
• CPA or EA designation not required
