Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Telemetry / Neuro Acute

Location

Phoenix, AZ

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 48-bed Neuro Acute unit, including patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, TBI, scoliosis surgeries, and other neurological diagnoses
• Monitor and interpret telemetry, including trending EEGs over 24–48 hour periods, and detect subtle changes in patient condition
• Perform and maintain competency in sterile field procedures including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
• Manage patients on BiPAP in collaboration with Respiratory Therapy; utilize SWAT RN support for difficult IV access as needed
• Participate in weekend rotation (3 shifts per 4-week period) and holiday rotation; engage in self-scheduling
• Float as needed to Med/Surg, Telemetry, or alternate campuses

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license with a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience
• Level 1 Trauma experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to acceptance (two attempts permitted)
• Must successfully complete a pass/fail SIMs Lab on Day 1 of orientation, demonstrating competency in sterile field technique, Foley catheter insertion, and central line dressing changes
• Strong critical thinking, assessment skills, and ability to detect subtle changes in neurological patients

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree preferred
• Certification in Med/Surg or Telemetry preferred
• Experience with neurological patient populations and cranial nerve assessment
• Background in Med/Surg Telemetry with proficiency in both medical-surgical and telemetry nursing skills
