Job Summary

Emergency Room Registered Nurse for a Level I Trauma setting. This position provides emergency care across neonatal, infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations in a 36-room department. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts totaling 36 hours per week.

Job Details

• Required Qualifications: Two years of registered nursing experience; required travel experience; current state or compact registered nurse license in hand at submission; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certifications; required experience with Epic charting; Level I trauma experience; arterial line management, bilevel positive airway pressure/continuous positive airway pressure management, blood product administration, ventilated patient care, central line management, continuous intravenous sedation, Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) care, adult and pediatric emergency care, gunshot wounds, head injuries, intracranial pressure monitoring, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, isolation precautions and personal protective equipment, intravenous vasopressors, neurotrauma, orthopedic trauma, pediatric emergency care, phlebotomy, procedural sedation administration and monitoring, spinal cord injuries, intravenous access, ST-Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) care, stroke care, traumatic amputations, traumatic brain injuries, and emergency department triage.
• Preferred Qualifications: Previous charge experience; community healthcare facility experience; long-term acute care experience; Level II trauma experience.
• Schedule: 12-hour day shifts; 36 hours per week. Weekend coverage is required.
• Additional Information: The emergency department includes 36 rooms and supports approximately 105 visits per day. Patient care encompasses all age groups and all diagnoses in a Level I Trauma setting, with support from respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and unit secretary staff. Orientation consists of 24 hours, and required onboarding laboratory and core items must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing.
