Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Job Developer / Public Outreach Specialist to join our team. This role is crucial in connecting job seekers with potential employers, developing new employment opportunities, and representing our organization in the community. The ideal candidate will be a people-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and a talent for building and maintaining relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Job Development:
• Identify and cultivate relationships with local employers to create job opportunities for our clients
• Research labor market trends and emerging industries to proactively develop new employment avenues
• Organize and conduct job fairs, networking events, and workshops to connect job seekers with employers
• Collaborate with the placement team to match qualified candidates with suitable job openings
• Maintain a database of employer contacts and job opportunities
• Public Outreach:
• Serve as a primary point of contact for community partners, employers, and other stakeholders
• Develop and implement outreach strategies to increase awareness of our services among potential clients and employers
• Represent the organization at community events, job fairs, and other public forums
• Conduct presentations to various groups about our programs and services
• Collaborate with the marketing team to create engaging content for social media, website, and other promotional materials
• Client Support:
• Provide guidance and support to job seekers throughout their employment journey
• Assess client skills, interests, and barriers to employment
• Develop individualized employment plans and provide job search assistance
• Conduct mock interviews and provide feedback to improve clients' interview skills
• Assist clients with resume writing and cover letter preparation
• Program Development and Management:
• Contribute to the development and implementation of new programs and initiatives
• Monitor program performance and prepare regular reports on job placement outcomes
• Identify areas for improvement and propose solutions to enhance program effectiveness
• Stay informed about changes in labor laws, employment regulations, and industry trends
• Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge

Qualifications

• Must successfully pass background checks.
• Ideal candidates possess at least two years of experience in job development or related employment support services; however, motivated entry-level candidates with relevant educational backgrounds or training are also encouraged to apply.
• Educational coursework in related fields preferred.
• Must demonstrate an ability or willingness to network effectively within the for-profit and non-profit sectors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
• The position requires site visits and travel; reliable transportation is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
