Job Title: Trailer Mechanic

Job Summary:
Jakes Fireworks is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to join our growing team in Pittsburg, Kansas. This position will primarily focus on maintaining and repairing trailers, including both swing-out and roll-up doors. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in diagnosing and repairing trailer components, including air brakes, air lines, electrical systems, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair trailer components and systems, including but not limited to:
  • Doors (swing-out and roll-up)
  • Air brakes and air lines
  • Electrical systems and wiring
• Perform preventative maintenance and ensure all equipment is in safe and reliable operating condition.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on trailers.
• Maintain accurate service records and ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with the transportation team to prioritize and complete work orders.
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained and in good working condition.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a trailer mechanic or similar role (minimum 2 years preferred).
• Strong knowledge of air brake systems, electrical wiring, and trailer components.
• Experience with swing-out and roll-up trailer doors is required.
• Must own a set of mechanic tools suitable for the job.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and diagrams.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as required.
• Comfortable working in various weather conditions and environments.
