Arbitrator I (Manheim)

Position Overview Company Cox Automotive – USA – Group Vehicle Operations – Job Profile Arbitrator I – Management Level Individual Contributor – Flexible Work Option Hybrid. Ideal candidates will reside within 15 miles of Manheim, Chicago, IL or Caledonia, WI. Compensation Hourly base pay rate: $18.22 – $27.36/hour, varying by location and candidate experience. Additional compensation may include commission and incentive programs. Key Responsibilities Review customer claims to ensure compliance with Manheim’s National Arbitration policies and account-specific guidelines. Investigate basic, less complex cases such as late title claims, basic condition report claims, vehicle availability, post‑sale inspection fails, and undisclosed damage. Interface with all departments involved in the complaint (reconditioning, front office, dealer services, vehicle entry, etc.) during fact‑finding and investigative phases. Utilize appropriate resources to investigate and facilitate inspections, documentation, and communication to progress cases toward resolution. Apply financial approval authority to resolve cases within authorized limits. Evaluate claims by comparing and validating various forms of information. Prepare and facilitate communication for resolution via telephone, email, and in‑person discussion. Mediates disputes and negotiates repair and/or pricing of disputed vehicles to reach mutually acceptable solutions and keep vehicles sold. Maintain accurate case files, verifying all required documentation including invoices and settlement agreements. Engage with supervisor or manager to determine if escalation is required. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Minimum: High School Diploma/GED and less than 2 years of experience. Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Time‑management ability and adaptability to a fluid environment. Preferred: 1+ years of automotive or body shop experience and claims adjuster experience.
