Temporary Pharmacist
- Location: Peoria, IL 61615
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM CST
- On-Call: Required after each shift and weekend on-call coverage (flexibility available for weekend coverage)
- Start Date: Training begins June 22, 2026
- Duration: Contract assignment until a permanent Director of Pharmacy is hired
A behavioral health hospital is seeking an experienced Pharmacist to provide interim leadership and operational support. This position offers the opportunity to oversee pharmacy operations, ensure regulatory compliance, and support key initiatives within a growing healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC)
- Oversee all pharmacy operations and regulatory compliance
- Support pharmacy operational initiatives and workflow development
- Stock and manage Omnicell automated dispensing systems
- Review and verify medication orders
- Participate in and lead Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) meetings
- Develop and implement pharmacy policies and procedures
- Ensure safe and effective medication management practices
- Collaborate with hospital leadership and clinical staff
Qualifications
- Active Illinois Pharmacist License (required)
- Previous inpatient hospital pharmacy experience (strongly preferred)
- Leadership or Director of Pharmacy experience preferred
- Experience within a behavioral health setting is a plus
- Familiarity with HCS order entry system and Omnicell automation preferred
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
