Job Description:


- Location: Templeton, CA, nestled among beautiful oak trees
- Join a community-focused, 122-bed acute care facility with a commitment to exceptional patient care since 1977
- Deliver nursing care for Emergency Department patients, ranging from newborns to geriatrics
- Work with a supportive team in a facility known for its outstanding medical, surgical, and outpatient services

Key Responsibilities:


- Conduct accurate triage assessments for all patients and alert Emergency MD of abnormal signs, symptoms, and vital signs
- Timely review and complete patient orders
- Provide medication side effects teaching to patients and include this in discharge instructions
- Recognize symptoms of cardiac or respiratory distress and act promptly in stable and emergent situations
- Demonstrate competence in routine nursing skills, including:
- Medication administration
- Intravenous therapy
- Care and maintenance of indwelling catheters and drains
- Safe use of critical care medical equipment
- Follow the established chain of command per policy
- Accurately interpret ECG rhythms and manage patient care during life-threatening emergencies
- Provide care during Code Blue, Code Stroke, Sepsis, and Trauma Activations
- Complete legible, accurate, and timely documentation of all nursing care provided

Requirements:


- Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum of one year of acute care experience required; at least two years of recent experience preferred
- Current RN license in state of practice required
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required
- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification required within 6 months of hire or transfer
- EPIC experience required
