Registered Nurse - ICU

Job Description

Job Summary:

Seeking experienced RN to support CVICU patients at Methodist Hospital, providing high-quality critical care for cardiac cases. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proficiency in hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management in a fast-paced ICU environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage complex cardiac patients by performing hemodynamic monitoring, including Swan-Ganz catheters and arterial lines.
• Administer ventilator support and ensure optimal respiratory care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to execute post-surgical and device support procedures such as post-CABG, VAD, and ECMO.
• Document patient assessments and interventions accurately using Meditech charting system.
• Monitor patient vital signs, respond promptly to alarms, and adjust treatments as needed.
• Maintain compliance with hospital protocols, infection control standards, and safety policies.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas RN license; no temporary licenses accepted.
• Minimum of 2 years ICU experience, preferably in cardiac or CVICU units.
• Current BLS, ACLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred.
• Proven ability to perform advanced cardiac procedures and critical thinking skills.
• Experience with Meditech and cardiac support devices such as IABP, Impella, or ECMO is advantageous.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and documentation skills.
