Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab/EP

Job Summary:
The Cath Lab RN is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing angiography, interventional, and diagnostic cardiac procedures. The role involves pre-procedure assessments, assisting with interventions, and post-procedure patient care to ensure safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform nursing care for cardiovascular patients before, during, and after procedures, including assessments, documentation, and patient education.
• Assist with a variety of diagnostic and interventional procedures such as stress tests, echocardiograms, pacemaker interrogations, and vascular access tasks.
• Operate specialized equipment including hemodynamic monitors, intracardiac devices, and intraaortic balloon pumps.
• Scrub in for procedures with physicians, ensuring all procedural protocols are followed accurately.
• Record all relevant clinical data and contribute to developing educational materials and programs.
• Evaluate patient safety during testing, administer sedation, and monitor vital signs, documenting appropriately.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan nursing license with active status, verified through Nursys or equivalent.
• Minimum one year of recent Cath Lab RN experience, with proficiency in Maclab hemodynamics.
• Certified in American Heart Association BLS and ACLS.
• Experience with Impella devices and intraaortic balloon pumps required.
• Strong knowledge of IR and vascular procedures preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to operate advanced cardiac equipment and manage vascular access.
