Executive Director Of Human ResourcesThe Executive Director of Human Resources (EDHR) serves as the campus's lead human resources officer and a strategic partner to the Chancellor and campus leadership team. The EDHR provides leadership for all campus human resources functions and advises leaders on talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, and organizational change. The EDHR is responsible for developing and implementing human resources strategies that support institutional goals and align with College policies, statewide priorities, and applicable federal and state laws. The position fosters a culture of accountability, inclusion, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement while ensuring human resources services are customer-focused, compliant, and operationally effective. The EDHR serves as a member of the Chancellor's Cabinet and collaborates closely with statewide Human Resources to advance institutional and system-wide priorities.Major ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipServe as the primary HR advisor to the Chancellor and campus leadership on employee relations, staffing, performance management, and policy interpretation.Lead the development and execution of campus human resources strategies that align with College priorities and statewide initiatives.Lead campus HR projects and process improvements that enhance service delivery.Support strategic campus initiatives and special projects as assigned by the Chancellor.Human Resources LeadershipProvide leadership and oversight of all campus human resources functions, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation, classification, benefits, leave administration, performance management, organizational development, compliance, and HR operations.Ensure consistent implementation and interpretation of College policies, employment practices, and applicable federal and state employment laws.Partner with Systems Office HR and/or College Counsel on employment-related matters, investigations, litigation, and legal compliance.Partner with campus Finance to oversee compensation practices and promote equitable, consistent, and competitive pay across the campus.Foster a positive workplace culture by promoting employee engagement, accountability, inclusion, leadership development, and effective conflict resolution.Use HR data and reports to identify trends and support campus decision-making.Operational LeadershipProvide executive leadership and oversight for assigned operational functions and administrative services that support campus effectiveness, regulatory compliance, and strategic priorities, including core human resources operations such as talent acquisition, onboarding, compensation and classification, employee records, leave administration (in partnership with Systems Office's Benefits and Leaves Hub), performance management, HRIS/Workday processes, and other related functions.Ensure operational processes are efficient, compliant, customer-focused, and aligned with statewide standards.Perform other operational and administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Chancellor that are consistent with the scope and responsibilities of the position.Lead planning efforts that identify organizational opportunities, evaluate alternatives, build stakeholder consensus, and successfully implement approved initiatives that improve organizational performance and service delivery.Financial and Administrative OversightDevelop and manage HR's departmental budget, ensuring responsible stewardship of institutional resources.Establish departmental priorities, operational goals, and performance measures that support campus objectives.Ensure appropriate oversight of human resources operations, records, systems, and business processes to maintain accuracy, compliance, and service excellence.Leadership and SupervisionLead, develop, and mentor the campus HR team while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented, and high-performing culture.Establish clear expectations, provide coaching and professional development, and evaluate staff performance.Build strong partnerships with campus leaders, faculty, staff, statewide Human Resources, and external stakeholders to advance College priorities.Other ResponsibilitiesMay serve as the Chancellor's designee on assigned committees, investigations, or campus matters, including student conduct or Title IX matters, as appropriate.Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the responsibilities of the position.All responsibilities must be performed in accordance with applicable federal and state laws, College policies, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and professional standards.This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards.Education and ExperienceRequiredBachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, or a related field.Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience in human resources or a related executive leadership role.Demonstrated experience leading multiple human resources disciplines, including employee relations, talent management, compensation, compliance, and organizational design.Strong knowledge of employment law, human resources best practices, organizational development, and change management.Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and conflict resolution skills.Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships, influence decision-making, and lead through change.Strong analytical, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive workplace where all employees feel respected, supported, and valued.PreferredMaster's degree in human resources, business administration, public administration, organizational leadership, or a related field.Professional HR certification (SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent).Leadership experience within higher education or another complex, multi-location organization.Ivy Tech is committed to supporting the well-being, growth, and financial security of our full-time faculty and staff.
