Front Desk Receptionist / Medical ReceptionistDermatology & Skin Cancer Center of Augusta is hiring a full-time Front Desk Receptionist / Medical Receptionist to join our busy dermatology and aesthetics practice in Augusta, GA. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys patient interaction, has exceptional customer service skills, strong phone etiquette, and is comfortable handling financial conversations including collecting patient payments.Schedule: Monday - Friday | 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Occasional participation in after-hours patient events or cosmetic events throughout the yearAs a Front Desk Receptionist, you will play a critical role in shaping the overall patient experience. We believe in providing our new associates with intensive hands on training and long-term career growth opportunities from within.ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in a warm, professional, and welcoming mannerManage patient check-in and check-out processes efficiently and accuratelyAnswer incoming calls with exceptional phone etiquette and a polished speaking voiceSchedule, reschedule, and confirm appointmentsCoordinate referrals and assist with scheduling follow-up careEnter and update patient demographic, insurance, and contact information in the EMR systemVerify patient information, required forms, signatures, and chart accuracy prior to appointmentsCollect copays, balances, cosmetic payments, and other patient financial responsibilitiesBalance daily payment totals and complete end-of-day reconciliation/reportingAddress patient billing questions or route concerns appropriatelyTrack patient flow in the reception area and communicate delays or updates as neededProcess incoming faxes, phone messages, correspondence, and interdepartmental communicationsMaintain front desk organization and support inventory monitoring/supply orderingAssist with product inventory updates and cosmetic retail support as neededProvide coverage for nearby offices as neededSupport occasional after-hours practice eventsAssist team members and leadership with additional administrative duties as neededQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED requiredAt least 2 years of recent customer service experience (required)1-3 years of recent experience in a medical receptionist, healthcare front desk, patient service representative, or medical office administrative role (preferred)Prior experience in dermatology, plastic surgery, aesthetics, cosmetic medicine, or another specialty practice (preferred)Experience collecting payments, copays, or discussing balances (preferred)Experience with scheduling, insurance verification, referrals, or EMR systems (preferred)Skills & AbilitiesOutstanding customer service and interpersonal communication skillsExcellent phone presence and professional speaking voiceComfortable discussing payments and collecting money from patientsStrong multitasking and organizational skillsDetail-oriented with excellent accuracyAbility to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced environmentWorking knowledge of HIPAA/privacy standardsExperience using EMR/practice management systemsProficiency with multi-line phone systems, computers, scanners, copiers, and other office equipmentAbility to work collaboratively as part of a teamFluent in EnglishFlexibility to support nearby clinic locations as neededPhysical RequirementsProlonged sitting with occasional standing, bending, stooping, and reachingManual dexterity sufficient for keyboard/computer useAbility to lift and carry up to 30 poundsCorrectable vision and hearing sufficient for office and telephone communicationBenefits (30+ Hours per Week)Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance (effective the 1st of the month following start date)Short-term and long-term disability coverageCompany-paid Basic Life & AD&D insuranceVoluntary life insurance (employee, spouse, and child)Critical Illness and Hospital Indemnity coveragePaid time offPaid holidaysRetirement savings planEmployee discounts on cosmetic products and services
