About this role:Wells Fargo is seeking a Data Solutions Technology Director. As a Technology Director, you will lead a team responsible for delivering strategic technology and data capabilities that support some of the organization's most critical business priorities. You will define technology strategy, build and develop high-performing engineering teams, and drive the design and delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions. This role requires a leader who can operate at both strategic and operational levels. You will partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to shape product roadmaps, modernize platforms, advance artificial intelligence and automation capabilities, and accelerate the adoption of modern engineering practices. You will be accountable for technology outcomes, talent development, delivery excellence, operational stability, and continuous innovation. Successful candidates will have a proven track record of leading large-scale technology initiatives, build strong engineering cultures, and translate complex business objectives into technology solutions that deliver measurable value. We provide the data platforms, products, and engineering capabilities that enable smarter decision-making, accelerate innovation, improve client experiences, and support responsible data management across the organization.In this role, you will:Manage a team of engineering managers and engineering leadsFocus on delivering commitments aligned to enterprise strategic prioritiesBuild support for strategies with business and technology leadersGuide development of actionable roadmaps and plansIdentify opportunities and strategies for continuous improvement of software engineering practicesProvide oversight to software craftsmanship, security, availability, resilience, and scalability of solutions developed by the teams or third party providersIdentify financial management and strategic resourcingSet risk management guidelines and partner with stakeholders to implement key risk initiativesDevelop strategies for hiring engineering talentLead implementation of projects and encourage engineering innovationCollaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managersLead team to achieve objectivesInterface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forumsManage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic LeadershipDevelop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategyRequired Qualifications:10+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education4+ years of management or leadership experience5+ years expertise in data modeling, warehousing, and Lakehouse architectures 5+ years' experience Own data quality, lineage, governance, and observability frameworks 4+ years experience in streaming + event-driven architectures for large-scale financial data 4+ years' experience driving data re-engineering, system decomposition, and modernization initiatives (Desired Qualifications:Tools: Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse, BigQueryLead legacy-to-cloud data platform migrationsDeep expertise in AWS / Azure / GCP (Data Lakes, Warehouses, Compute, Storage)Job Expectations:Must be based in one of the above locations or willing to relocate.This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule, 3 days onsite.This position will require onsite presence in a hybrid arrangementPay RangeReflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance, skills, experience, or work location.
