Quality Engineer I

Badger Meter is a global leader in water technology and is seeking a recent graduate to join as an Engineer I. This entry‑level engineering role focuses on product quality, manufacturing operations, and continuous improvement. Responsibilities Support product quality and manufacturing operations Assist with troubleshooting product and process issues on the manufacturing floor Help investigate customer and production challenges and support resolution efforts Learn and execute testing, including product validation and design verification testing Assist in developing test plans and documenting results Apply engineering fundamentals and analyze designs, tolerances, and test results with guidance from senior engineers Participate in problem‑solving activities using structured approaches Contribute to continuous improvement and support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions for quality or production issues Support engineering and quality processes, including engineering change requests and documentation updates Help develop and maintain procedures, work instructions, and quality documentation Gain exposure across the business; learn manufacturing processes, product lines, and internal systems Participate in cross‑functional project teams Build foundational skills and develop knowledge of project management concepts and quality tools such as FMEA and control plans Learn Badger Meter’s safety standards and engineering practices Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Electrical, or related field) Foundational knowledge of engineering fundamentals and problem‑solving techniques Exposure to blueprint reading; GD&T is a plus Technical curiosity and interest in a manufacturing environment Willingness to learn tools such as Minitab, Excel, or basic data analysis systems Strong initiative and eagerness to learn; ability to work independently and as part of a team Clear written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have Internship or co‑op experience in manufacturing or engineering Exposure to statistical analysis, SQL, or quality tools Spanish language skills Benefits Competitive pay with annual bonus eligibility Annual pay increases Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage 15 days paid time off + 11 paid holidays Retirement savings: Badger Meter matches 25¢ for each dollar contributed up to 7% of eligible compensation; additional 5% contribution to a Defined Contribution account annually Certified financial planner access at no cost Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Basic group life insurance and short‑term disability Tuition reimbursement up to $5,250 and other voluntary benefits such as additional life, long‑term disability, and critical illness coverage Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) options Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Badger Meter proudly offers equal employment opportunity to all employees and applicants and considers candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
