Employment Specialist

Position Overview: The Employment Specialist is responsible for carrying out the services of the MOC Supported Employment Programs by assisting clients to obtain and maintain employment that is consistent with their vocational goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Engaging clients and establishing relationships directed toward the goal of competitive employment in a job setting that provides long-term, sustainable employment. Collaborate with community providers to establish stream of referrals and resources for employment programs Present, on behalf of MOC, at community workforce events, as needed Assess clients' vocational functioning on an ongoing basis utilizing background information and work experiences Conducts job development and job search activities to assist caseload Provide individualized follow-along support to assist clients in maintaining employment. Provide education and support to the clients, as needed Conduct outreach services, as needed, with clients who appear to disengage from the service. Develop an individual employment/education plan with each active caseload Meet with individuals in the community, as needed Assist with the development of the SNAP Employment and Training (E&T) program Required Education and Experience: Education and experience equivalent to an undergraduate degree in workforce training & development, social services, or business Experience working with people with barriers to employment, experience providing employment services, and knowledge of the work world are preferred The ability to work as an effective team player is essential Must be eligible to work in the United States Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times Other duties: Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Compensation: A salary within the range of $24.51 to $33.17 per hour will be provided to the successful candidate having met the minimum requirements for the position consistent with the MOC compensation philosophy. The candidate’s exact placement will be determined based on factors consistent with MOC’s compensation framework.
