Job Description

Responsible under the supervision of a MD or Registered Nurse, you will provide care to patients in an ambulatory setting. Principal accountabilities include: working collaboratively with multidisciplinary health care teams to maintain the standards of professional nursing practices in a clinical setting; collecting comprehensive data on patients' health (from patients and/or family members); analyzing data to determine needs; assisting the physician in treatments and procedures and ensuring that all physician orders are carried out appropriately and timely; fostering effective and patient throughput, delivering excellent customer service, establishing and maintaining an organized professional environment; integrating patient care standards in all clinical activities; participating in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety, quality of care and patient outcomes; maintaining sensitivity and awareness of cultural and religious diversity when addressing patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers; promoting a supportive and team-oriented environment; supporting departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range strategic plan, mission, vision and values of the hospital; and performing other relevant tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Required: graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing required; LPN license and registration required; BLS certification required; HCAHPS/EPIC knowledge preferred; specialty knowledge, skills, and abilities may be required based on department/specialty group assigned. Preferred: primary care practice experience preferred; capable of working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining aseptic technique and providing excellent safe patient care; strong communicator and advocate for patient safety and AORN standards; team oriented and team approach to work task accomplishment and unit functions.
