About the Position

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities
Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit, maintaining a target nurse-to-patient ratio of 4:1 (ratio may reach up to 6:1 based on census needs).
Float to other Med/Surg and Telemetry units as needed, including forensics and inpatient units.
Deliver safe, competent care to a patient population that includes individuals from a correctional/prison setting.
Participate in the facility's holiday rotation; contract nurses assigned to this role are expected to work 3 of the 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day).
Complete required HealthStream pass/fail competency exams within 48 hours of assignment and meet all pre-start compliance deadlines.
Adhere to facility's strict no-call policy throughout the duration of the contract.

Required Qualifications
Valid Tennessee state RN license or compact multi-state license required at time of submission; no pending licenses accepted.
Current Nursys report required; license must be active.
Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI).
Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience.
Comfort working with a prison/correctional patient population.

Preferred Experience / Skills
Experience floating to Telemetry or other inpatient units.
Prior experience in forensic nursing or working with correctional populations.
Familiarity with Qualivis submission and compliance processes.
