Commercial / Industrial Environmental Services Lead – Valhalla, NY or New York City, NY WSP is currently searching for a Commercial / Industrial Environmental Services Lead to join our Earth & Environment Team. This role will be based in either the Valhalla, NY or New York City, NY office and will help our organization meet client objectives and solve challenges. Your Impact Diligently manage projects to meet client expectations for quality, schedule and budget. Lead larger‑scale projects ensuring contributors know what they are required to do and by when, overseeing project budgets, monitoring external events, tracking hours and expenses, ensuring satisfactory performance, and supervising subcontractors, contract work, and employees. Develop a client base for providing high‑level environmental services, including identifying additional business‑development opportunities. Perform environmental work and conduct more complex/comprehensive investigations and inspections of air emission sources, hazardous or solid waste facilities, water supply facilities, industrial and agricultural facilities, pollution sources and proposed and existing site conditions, water resources, and underground storage tanks to determine conformance with applicable rules, standards, and permits. Ensure technical reports and presentations explain research, findings, and recommendations to prevent, control, restore, clean‑up, or address environmental issues or problems. Collaborate with professionals from a variety of disciplines to provide future‑ready solutions for clients. Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs. Required Qualifications Minimum 7‑10 years of relevant post‑education experience in the environmental services field. Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or closely related discipline. Proven ability to manage and grow client accounts in the commercial/industrial sector. Well‑defined knowledge of relevant environmental laws, regulations, compliance practices, and record‑keeping requirements. Project management experience with small to mid‑level projects, including tracking hours and expenses. Experienced with reviewing technical documents and preparing complex technical deliverables and plans. Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and asserting direction of subcontractors and others to complete tasks safely and efficiently. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and compliance with WSP safety and harassment policies. Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules, prioritize responsibilities, and work under pressure. Willingness to travel occasionally depending on project requirements. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science or related field. Professional licensure or certification. 40‑hour OSHA Health & Safety Training (HAZWOPER) (29 CFR 1910.120). Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training.
