Senior Internal Control Analyst

A great UHY client is seeking a Sr. Internal Control Analyst to support and lead internal controls initiatives within a global manufacturing organization. This role will focus on SOX compliance, internal controls testing, documentation, and process improvement activities across multiple business units. The position offers strong exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to play a key role in a growing internal controls function.

The Sr. Internal Control Analyst role is a hybrid position based in Southfield, MI, requiring approximately three days per week onsite. This is a permanent, direct-hire opportunity offering strong compensation, bonus potential, and visibility across the organization.

Sr. Internal Control Analyst Responsibilities

• Coordinate and support internal controls and SOX compliance efforts across the organization
• Document, test, and maintain internal controls and risk control matrices (RCMs)
• Partner with corporate accounting and operational teams to improve control processes and consistency
• Assist with annual controls testing and compliance activities
• Support implementation and transition to new internal controls tools and systems
• Prepare and maintain detailed process documentation and reporting
• Collaborate with business units and plant locations to evaluate and strengthen controls
• Assist with special projects related to compliance, governance, and ESG initiatives

Sr. Internal Control Analyst Requirements

• Public accounting and/or internal controls experience required
• Manufacturing industry experience preferred
• SOX or related compliance experience required
• 3+ years of relevant experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong documentation and organizational abilities
• CPA or CIA preferred but not required
• Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional, team-oriented environment
