Pediatric Specialty Care - Pre/Post Op Clinical Nurse

The Pediatric Surgical Care team is one of the top‑ranked children’s hospital programs in the country and offers care in more than 50 specialty areas. Location & Schedule West location: 13001 N Outer 40 Rd, Town & Country, MO 63017 South location: 5114 Midamerica Plaza, St. Louis, MO 63129 Part‑time; three 8‑hour shifts per week Monday‑Friday; rotating shifts with start times between 6:00 and 9:00 am No set schedule, no holidays, no on‑call, no night shifts Benefits eligible Role Purpose Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and families on illness management, home care needs, and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team, patients, and families. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Communicate the plan of care across the continuum of care. Work in a constant state of alertness in a safety‑sensitive environment. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s Degree Experience: None required Supervisor Experience: None required Licenses & Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) Preferred Requirements Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing Experience: 3–4 years of nursing, prior pediatric experience, and prior Same Day Surgery, PACU, or Ambulatory Surgery Center experience.
