Ultrasound Technologist RE (PT-Night) – Somerville, NJ Position: Part-Time | Shift: Night | Pay: $49.43 - $61.04 per hour | Department: Ultrasound | Facility: RWJ Somerset Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is looking to add a qualified part‑time Ultrasound Technologist in Somerville, NJ. Qualifications High school graduate or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited ultrasound school. Minimum three years experience in a hospital setting performing the following preferred: abdomen, OB/GYN, small parts, thyroid, vascular, pediatric, biopsies, and interventional procedures. Great working professionally and cooperatively with patients, physicians, and other hospital staff members. Possess a pleasant bedside manner. Certifications and Licenses Required ARDMS certification required. BLS certification required. Scheduling Requirements Night shift, 20 hours per week. Part time. Essential Functions Screen requisitions to ensure proper exams are being ordered and proper prep is called to the nurse taking care of the patient. Ensure proper workflow is being maintained. Maintain positive relationship between radiologist and sonographers. Assist lead technologist and supervisor in day‑to‑day operation. Primary person ensuring proper steps are taken in the documentation process of ultrasound exams (tracking/dictation of exam in timely manner). Initiate service calls and documents. Train fellow sonographers and students with complex and/or new techniques. Apply age‑specific competency by applying knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan and providing care appropriate to the age of patients served. Assess data reflective of each patient’s status and interpret information needed to identify each patient’s age requirements relative to their age‑specific health care needs. Abide by standards established by the hospital, state and federal regulatory agencies. Assist supervisor with review of co‑workers sonograms to ensure they are following departmental policy and provide a list of positives and negatives for educational purposes.
