Job Description

The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Registered Nurse provides 24/7 care for critically ill and unstable patients. The role involves managing life-support equipment such as ventilators, titrating complex intravenous drips, and interpreting vital signs. ICU nurses perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments, administer medications, and coordinate advanced care with a multidisciplinary medical team.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate life-support systems and equipment.
• Titrate complex intravenous drips according to care protocols.
• Conduct thorough assessments to monitor patient condition.
• Administer medications and IV therapies as indicated.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care.
• Educate patients and families regarding care plans and health conditions.

Schedule

This position requires night shifts, with a 12-hour shift length and a guaranteed 36 hours of work per week.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of ICU nursing experience (floating not considered).
• EKG experience is mandatory.
• Must be willing to float to similar units, including Neuro, CVICU, and Trauma.
• Preferred experience in managing ventilators, CRRT, and balloon pumps.
• Current Michigan RN license is required; provide LARA and Nursys verification.
• ACLS and BLS certifications are mandatory.
