Low Voltage Cable Technician

Contract-to-Hire: 6-Month Contract with Permanent Conversion Opportunity

Overview

We are seeking motivated Entry-Level and Experienced Low Voltage Technicians who are looking to build a long-term career in the structured cabling industry. This role involves installing and supporting low-voltage cabling infrastructure in commercial environments. Note: This is a low-voltage cabling position and does not provide electrical hours toward an electrician's license.

Responsibilities

• Pull, route, and install CAT5, CAT6, coax, and fiber optic cabling
• Terminate and test low voltage cables
• Perform punch-downs and cable labeling
• Install and dress cables in racks, cabinets, and telecommunications rooms
• Assist with rack-and-stack projects
• Install wireless access points (WAPs), CCTV devices, and related low-voltage systems
• Follow project drawings and installation standards
• Maintain a safe and organized work environment
• Travel directly to job sites and work with project teams to complete installations on schedule

Required Skills

• Structured cabling experience
• CAT5/CAT6 cable installation
• Cable pulling and routing
• Cable termination and punch-downs
• Telecommunications and low-voltage systems knowledge
• Ability to use basic hand tools
• Reliable transportation to job sites

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fiber optic cabling
• Rack-and-stack installation experience
• Experience installing wireless access points or CCTV systems
• OSHA 10 Certification (highly preferred)

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilmington, MA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
