Job Summary Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District is seeking caring, outgoing, and transformative Substitute Paraprofessionals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Follow schedule of regular paraprofessional Assist classroom teacher Facilitate student success and growth in academic and interpersonal skills Create a flexible, safe learning environment that is conducive to individualized and small group learning Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to create an environment of respect and trust Evidence of successful experiences with students at a range of ages Commitment to and evidence of continual improvement Education/Certification Requirements High School diploma or equivalent Physical Requirements This work requires the occasional exertion of up to 50 pounds of force; work regularly requires speaking or hearing, frequently requires standing, walking, sitting and using hands to finger, handle or feel and occasionally requires stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling, pushing or pulling and lifting; work requires close vision and distance vision; vocal communication is required for expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word and conveying detailed or important instructions to others accurately, loudly or quickly; hearing is required to perceive information at normal spoken word levels and to receive detailed information through oral communications and/or to make fine distinctions in sound; work requires observing general surroundings and activities; work occasionally requires exposure to outdoor weather conditions, exposure to bloodborne pathogens and may be required to wear specialized personal protective equipment and Exposure to bodily fluids; work is generally in a moderately noisy location (e.g. business office, light traffic).
