Join our team as a Loan Processor ($18.00/hour)

As a Consumer Loan Support Specialist, you’ll play an important role in helping our members successfully navigate the consumer lending process. You’ll provide administrative and loan-processing support from application through funding, ensuring documents are accurate, requirements are met, and loans are processed efficiently.

You’ll work closely with Loan Consultants, Underwriters, members, dealerships, and other partners, serving as a knowledgeable and responsive point of contact throughout the lending process. Your attention to detail, organization, and commitment to exceptional service will help create a smooth experience for both our members and internal teams.

This role also helps protect our organization and members by ensuring lending activities follow applicable regulations, policies, and procedures, including Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) requirements.

What You’ll Do

Support the Consumer Lending Process

• Process and fund direct and indirect consumer loan applications from application through completion.
• Review member-provided information and documentation for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare loan documents and complete quality-control reviews before funding.
• Work with Loan Consultants, Underwriters, members, and dealerships to gather documentation, provide status updates, and resolve processing questions.
• Help ensure loans meet credit union policies, procedures, and funding requirements.

Manage Specialized Lending Services

• Process and fund Premier Check loans and review and approve dealer drafts.
• Administer GAP claims by coordinating with members, dealerships, insurance carriers, and third-party providers.
• Track documentation and follow up as needed to help ensure claims are resolved accurately and promptly.
• Maintain complete and accurate records throughout the lending and claims process.

Protect Collateral & Maintain Accurate Records

• Monitor title work and lien perfection reports to help ensure collateral liens are properly secured within established timeframes.
• Monitor related general ledger accounts and address discrepancies as needed.
• Prepare lending reports for management and committee review.
• Maintain accurate records while following applicable compliance and regulatory requirements.

Provide Ongoing Loan Support

• Monitor and manage lending helpdesk requests and respond to loan-processing questions.
• Complete loan maintenance activities such as skip payments, due-date changes, and other account servicing requests.
• Identify and escalate issues when additional assistance is needed.
• Provide timely, professional support to both internal and external members.
