Key Responsibilities: Thoroughly evaluate and underwrite new homeowners insurance applications, ensuring adherence to established underwriting standards. Review and assess renewal policies for ongoing eligibility, exposure changes, and overall profitability. Collaborate with internal agents to provide expert underwriting guidance and educational feedback on company policies. Utilize independent judgment to effectively balance risk selection, retention, and profitability goals. Stay informed about regulatory and coverage variations in multiple states, including AZ, CA, ID, NV, UT, and TX. Accurately document underwriting decisions in our automated systems. Qualifications: A minimum of 2 years of direct homeowners or property underwriting experience is required; a background in property and casualty is preferred. Strong analytical skills and ability to assess risk effectively. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of multi-state regulatory requirements is essential. Proficiency in underwriting platforms and common office software. Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills and professional judgment.
