Building Maintenance / Janitor

JOB SUMMARY

The primary function of the Building Maintenance/Janitor is the general maintenance and cleaning of Building and outside lot.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Clean all exposed filing cabinets, bookcases, shelves
2. Clean and sanitize telephones
3. Clean and sanitize desk tops
4. Clean reception lobby
5. Empty all waste receptacles & replace liners as needed including shop.
6. Vacuum all carpeted areas
7. Clean, sanitize, polish all vitreous fixtures
8. Clean all glass and mirrors
9. Refill all dispensers to normal limits
10. Sweep, damp mop, and sanitize hard floor
11. Clean and sanitize all sinks and sink fixtures
12. Clean popcorn machine
13. Remove dust and cobwebs from ceiling areas and window seals
14. Keep both kitchens clean including microwaves and coffee pots
15. Once a month clean exterior and interior windows
16. Mow lawn when needed (weekly minimum during growing season)
17. Maintain/trim landscape bushes and shrubs as needed (minimum twice per year)
18. Pressure wash building as needed
19. Building maintenance as needed (light bulbs, paint touch ups, etc.)
20. Keep parking area and landscaping free of debris
21. Buffing and Waxing all floors minimum twice per year.
22. When not cleaning, maintenance person will be back up for the shipping and receiving department as well as running errands for the Service Department

QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Clearly legible handwriting. Experience in Janitorial and general maintenance work.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is physically demanding. Employee will climb stairs, climb in and out of vehicles, stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach, moving about the dealership facility to communicate with managers, employees and customers. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted on a regular basis as well as heavier loads with forklifts and /or additional assistance will be required. Will be exposed to noise, dust, exhaust fumes, and a variety of other hazardous and non hazardous materials.
