Registered Nurse (RN) - Flex Pool

Job Description

The Flex Pool Registered Nurse (RN) will provide critical care in various medical and surgical units. This role requires a robust skill set, adaptability, and a commitment to patient care across different environments.

General Job Duties

• Float between various medical and surgical units as needed.
• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in diverse settings.

Shift and Schedule Requirements

Shifts consist of 12-hour night schedules from 18:45 to 07:15, with a requirement for 36 hours per week following the initial orientation week. Please note that there is no guarantee of hours.

Equipment Utilized

• Meditech EMR
• Pyxis medication management
• Wound vacs
• Chest tubes

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Registered Nurse.
• Current BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.
• Additional certifications such as PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, and ENPC are advantageous.

Floating to Other Units

The RN may be required to float to the following units:

• Medical Unit
• Laulima Unit (surgical acute care)
• Cardiovascular Unit (on rare occasions)

Unit Information

• Medical Unit: 77 Beds
• Laulima Unit: 18 Beds
• Cardiovascular Unit: 15 Beds

Nurse-Patient Ratios

• Medical Unit: 1:6 during days and evenings; 1:8 during nights
• Laulima Unit: 1:6
• Cardiovascular Unit: 1:4

Please note that ratios may vary due to unexpected absences.

Dress Code

Professional nursing attire is required; clean scrubs must be worn at all times.

Training and Orientation

Comprehensive orientation will be provided for each unit to ensure familiarity with protocols and systems.

Holiday Coverage

Holiday coverage will be required as part of this position.
