Job Description Paid Social Director Employment Type: Freelance Location: MUST be local to NY/NJ area for occasional in office days About The Role We are seeking an experienced Paid Social Director to lead high-impact paid social strategy and performance across major digital platforms. This freelance role will combine strategic leadership, hands-on campaign oversight, and data-driven optimization to grow acquisition, engagement, and conversion outcomes. You will partner with internal marketing, creative, analytics, product, and agency teams to build scalable campaign frameworks, guide investment decisions, test emerging advertising capabilities, and turn performance insights into action. Key Responsibilities Lead paid social strategy across Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, and emerging platforms. Develop campaign structures, audience segmentation, and optimization plans aligned with business and growth objectives. Oversee campaign execution with agency and internal partners, including setup, pacing, testing, reporting, and troubleshooting. Drive measurable improvements in acquisition, conversion, and high-value customer outcomes across web and app experiences. Create and manage a structured experimentation roadmap covering audiences, bidding, creative, placements, and platform features. Translate campaign results into clear recommendations for budget allocation, creative direction, and cross-channel strategy. Partner with creative teams to identify asset needs and improve performance through ongoing creative testing. Improve tracking, attribution, reporting, and access to performance data in collaboration with analytics and technical stakeholders. Evaluate and adopt relevant platform betas, automation tools, bidding strategies, and new ad formats. Serve as a paid social subject-matter expert in discussions with cross-functional stakeholders and platform partners. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience. 7+ years of performance marketing experience, with deep expertise in paid social media. Demonstrated success driving customer acquisition and conversion growth in competitive digital environments. Experience managing multi-platform paid social programs across both web and mobile app funnels. Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data to identify opportunities, measure impact, and guide decisions. Experience developing audience strategies, managing campaign budgets, and optimizing toward defined performance goals. Excellent written, verbal, and stakeholder-management skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience collaborating with product, engineering, data, and technical implementation teams. Working knowledge of attribution, conversion tracking, pixels, mobile measurement, and analytics tools. Experience leading paid social activity across multiple markets, regions, or languages. Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight timelines. Strong project-management skills, attention to detail, and comfort managing multiple initiatives simultaneously.
