Transportation Engineer

Job Title: Traffic EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a skilled Traffic Engineer to join our dynamic Transportation & Traffic Engineering department. This role involves developing comprehensive traffic engineering design packages and conducting in-depth traffic analysis to support local agencies.

Responsibilities

• Develop traffic engineering design packages, including traffic signal plans, signing and striping plans, pavement marking plans, electrical plans, lighting plans, and maintenance and protection of traffic plans.

• Perform capacity analysis, operational analysis, traffic forecasting, traffic data interpretation, and crash data analysis.

• Conduct transportation simulation to evaluate and improve traffic flow.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in civil engineering, Microstation, Synchro, and AutoCad.

• 2-3 years of experience in traffic/transportation projects, including work with NJDOT and NYDOT.

• Expertise in traffic signals, traffic studies, roadway design, and highway design.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with HCS, Vissim, Civil 3D, and AGi32 is preferred.

• Previous experience with NJDOT, PANYNJ, NJ Turnpike Authority, NYSDOT, or NYC agencies is a strong plus.

Our team is composed of approximately 20 employees, including traffic data collection staff, traffic engineering technicians, transportation engineers, traffic analysis engineers, and engineering consultants. We are a family-owned business with a tight-knit community, fostering close contact with upper management and a major focus on developing employee skillsets. We take pride in having no layoffs in our 30 years of operation.

This is a Permanent position based out of East Brunswick, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $95000.00 - $105000.00/yr.
