About the Role

The Company is in need of a Senior Legal Counsel to provide expert legal guidance and support to its business units and senior leadership. The successful candidate will be the primary legal contact for a variety of significant legal issues, including complex regulatory matters and contract negotiations. Key responsibilities for this role include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a wide range of legal documents, managing all aspects of litigation, and advising on legal risks and compliance. The Senior Legal Counsel will also be involved in corporate governance activities, partner with HR on labor and employment matters, and collaborate with cross-functional teams and global stakeholders. Applicants must have a Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school, be a licensed attorney in good standing, and have a minimum of 8 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in the logistics or transportation industry. The role requires a strong background in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts, knowledge of industry-related regulatory frameworks, and the ability to manage a high-volume workload. The ideal candidate will have experience with U.S. Federal Maritime Commission regulations, global trade compliance, anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws, and data privacy regulations. Preferred qualifications include leadership or management experience within a legal department or law firm. The Senior Legal Counsel should possess excellent communication, analytical, negotiation, and decision-making skills, and have a proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
