DINING ON-CALL SUPERVISOR (FULL TIME)

Overview We are hiring immediately for a full time DINING ON-CALL SUPERVISOR position. Location: OMC Kenner - 180 West Esplanade Avenue, Kenner, LA 70065. Note: online applications accepted only. Responsibilities Responsible for coordinating patient meal service; e.g., menu selections, tray assembly, tray delivery and pick up, and special requests/needs for the Dining on Call Program. Ensure employees are adequately trained and units are properly staffed to provide service. Oversees systems and processes to ensure the strategic and operational objectives of the Dining on Call service are accomplished. Assist in the selection and orientation of employees and oversee training of Dining on Call staff. Work with Nutrition Operators to ensure alternatives to menu as allowed on prescribed diet in accordance with allergies or sensitivities, cultural, ethnic and religious preferences, when patient inquiries or needs additional selections. Evaluate patient meal selection, tray completion, tray delivery, and tray retrieval process on a daily basis. Respond to patient needs at all times. Resolve patient concerns or complaints immediately and/or report needed assistance to supervisor as appropriate. Comply with dietary restrictions on special, modified diets to ensure optimal food preferences are met within diet order guidelines. Oversee development and implementation of action plans within Dining on Call service, as appropriate. Coordinate and oversee daily and weekly activities/tasks performed by Dining on Call staff. Develop and post employees’ schedules according to department policy. Update and communicate job flow changes of Dining on Call positions, as applicable. Interact with nursing to ensure patients’ diet prescriptions are accurate and needs are met. Communicate patient-related problems/concerns to appropriate personnel in a timely manner following departmental procedures. Submit all required documentation, reports, and logs in a timely, professional and complete manner. Visit patients on assigned units and ensure each patient is visited by a member of the management or professional team at least once during their hospital stay. Comply with regulatory agency standards, including federal, state, and JCAHO. Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures. Follow HACCP guidelines when receiving, assembling and distributing food supplies to ensure quality and safety of food supply. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Requirement: Prior dining on call supervisor experience preferred.
