OSF ITEMS OF NOTE:
- Local Rate: Applies to clinicians with permanent addresses within 50 miles (-*** to regular and OT bill rates)
- OSF Call Off Policy: Equivalent of 12 hours every 13 weeks with no penalty or need to pay for the shift
- Non-billable Orientation Hours: 12 hours, guaranteed hours will not apply during orientation


REQUIREMENTS FOR SUBMISSION:
- Last four (4) digits of clinician's SSN
- Clinician's middle initial
- Requested time off
- Active IL license or confirmation that application process has been initiated
- Your candidate understands OSF is a Drug-Free Campus and they must produce a negative drug screen for all panels

Department: Alternate Birthing | RN

- # of L&D Beds: 5 L&D beds
- # of OR Suites on the unit for C-Sections: 2 OR suites
- # of Triage beds: 1 L&D triage
- # of Postpartum beds: 3 single postpartum rooms & 4 double postpartum rooms (used as single pt rooms & support person stays in extra bed).
- # of Births per day? Month? Year?: Cases per day/census varies widely day to day
- Do you follow AWHONN guidelines for ratios?: Yes - 1:1 active labor, up to 1:3 for antepartum/triage/early labor, 1:6 mother baby.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Fetal monitoring competency every 2 years.
- Common diagnoses: Labor, antepartum, postpartum, GYN surgical, neonates.
- Experience: 2 years labor & delivery experience. Must be able to manage labor patients. Previous travel experience.
- Is there a Charge Nurse: Yes, charge nurse 24/7, takes a patient assignment when necessary.
- Are there nurse aids/surgical techs on this unit: 1 surgical tech every shift & occasionally a PCT depending on census/acuity.
- RT Equipment: Not for adults. Use Cpap & HFNC in the nursery & occasional vents while awaiting transport.
- Are there Tele/Monitor Techs: No tele
- EFM System: Obix
- Shifts & Scheduling: 12Hr shifts - 7a/7p, typically only one shift, not rotating. Do accommodate block scheduling.
- Weekend Requirements: RN travelers must work every other weekend. Weekends are: Days: Saturday/Sunday. Nights: Friday/Saturday or Saturday/Sunday.
- Holiday Requirements: RN travelers must work every other holiday. Holidays are: Days: Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years Day. Nights: Memorial Day Eve, July 3rd, Labor Day Eve, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, New Years Eve.

- Scrub Color: Hospital provided. Dedicated shoes or shoe covers if not dedicated.
