About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Med Surg Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS Certification required Must-Have: Ability to pass an exam during orientation Description: Unit provides medical, surgical, and orthopedic care. Ratios are typically 1:5-6. Staff may take a 1:6 ratio at least once a week. Charge Nurse is available on each shift and will take an assignment. Respiratory Therapy is available 24 hours on the floor. Centralized telemetry station is in place. Nurse Aides or Patient Care Technicians are present, typically with a ratio of 1:10-12. Shifts include 0630-1900 and 1830-0700. Weekend and holiday requirements are as needed. No on-call or standby requirements. Floating to other units may be necessary. Scrubs must be navy blue. First week includes classroom orientation and clinical shifts on the floor. Limited time off requests should be provided upfront. The facility can cancel a certain number of shifts during the assignment. Charting system utilized is EPIC. Position does not require a BSN. Must possess a valid nursing license. Scope of practice is in an acute care setting.
