Graduate Nurse (GN) - Adult Psych

Location St Vincents Medical Center (10427) Shift Details Straight Night shift, 3‑12hr shifts (7p‑7:30am), every other weekend including holidays Job Summary Provides temporary practice, pending results of the licensing examination for a period not to exceed 90 calendar days after graduation. This temporary practice privilege automatically ceases upon notification that the graduate nurse has failed the licensure exam or after 90 days if licensing is still pending. Provides holistic, quality and cost‑effective nursing care for patients/families in a unit, service or primary area of practice with awareness of the episode of care. Applies the nursing process within the framework of the organization’s professional practice. Practices under the supervision of a licensed RN and reports to the Unit Manager. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited nursing program. Minimum Associate degree, Bachelor’s preferred. Associate degree hires must obtain a BSN within six years of hire date. Application to sit for the CT RN license completed and licensing obtained within 90 calendar days of graduation. Demonstrates ability to develop, deliver and evaluate patient care.
