Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Lead / Safety Manager

Location: Boise, ID

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Lead / Safety Manager to oversee and manage all safety-related activities on a large-scale construction project in Boise, Idaho. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing safety policies and procedures while promoting a strong safety culture among employees, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.

The EHS Lead will provide leadership in hazard identification, risk mitigation, compliance management, safety training, incident investigation, and continuous improvement initiatives to ensure a safe and productive work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all site safety and health programs.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and client-specific safety requirements.
• Conduct daily site inspections and audits to identify hazards and implement corrective actions.
• Develop, communicate, and enforce project-specific EHS policies and procedures.
• Facilitate safety orientations, toolbox talks, and ongoing training programs.
• Investigate incidents, near misses, and safety concerns and implement corrective actions.
• Monitor subcontractor safety performance and ensure compliance with site requirements.
• Maintain required safety documentation, reports, permits, and records.
• Participate in project planning activities to identify and mitigate risks before work begins.
• Track and report EHS metrics, trends, and improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with project management, superintendents, and client representatives to maintain a proactive safety culture.
• Serve as the primary safety resource for project personnel and management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Occupational Health, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum 5 years of construction safety experience .
• Minimum 3 years of Safety Program Management experience .
• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and construction safety best practices.
• Proven experience conducting safety training and workforce engagement programs.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)
• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
• Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST)
• OSHA 500 Trainer Certification
• Experience supporting industrial, semiconductor, mission-critical, manufacturing, data center, or large commercial construction projects.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk active construction sites for extended periods.
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs, and access elevated work areas.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when required.
