POSITION SUMMARY:

The Material Flow Coordinator is a hands-on, non-supervisory role responsible for coordinating and optimizing the daily movement of reclaimed components, purchased parts, and production kits after receipt into the facility. This role ensures materials are delivered in the right quantity, location, and condition to support safe, efficient, and uninterrupted production.

The coordinator bridges Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering by organizing flow across warehouse, disassembly, reclaim, staging, kitting, and production. This position also establishes and maintains kitting standards, identifies material-flow disruptions, and drives resolution to prevent recurrence.

While this role provides task-level direction and technical guidance, it does not include formal supervisory responsibilities such as hiring, discipline, or performance management. Issues requiring escalation are directed to the Warehouse Supervisor or Supply Chain Manager.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Coordinate material movement from receiving through production in alignment with the production schedule
• Ensure materials are accurate in quantity, properly staged, and available at the point of use
• Build, verify, and maintain complete and accurate production kits
• Validate kits against Bills of Material (BOMs); resolve shortages, substitutions, and discrepancies
• Develop and maintain standard work for kitting and material presentation
• Establish point-of-use and line-readiness standards to minimize waste and delays
• Provide task-level direction and reinforce standard work for material handling and kitting
• Identify and resolve material-flow constraints impacting production
• Support ERP transactions, cycle counts, and inventory audits; investigate discrepancies and perform root-cause analysis
• Partner with Supply Chain, Operations, and Engineering to ensure BOM and kitting readiness
• Participate in daily Gemba walks and tier meetings; escalate issues as needed
• Maintain compliance with safety standards, equipment inspections, and 5S practices

• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to workflow, safety, and efficiency
• Assist in onboarding and training new employees
• Support Open Book Management and Great Game of Business principles
• Escalate compliance or performance concerns appropriately
• Perform other duties as assigned based on business needs

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS PREFERRED:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 3–5 years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse, logistics, or material coordination

• Prior lead or coordination experience preferred
• Ability to read and interpret Bills of Material (BOMs)
• Working knowledge of production scheduling and material requirements
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities across cross-functional teams

PREFFERED SKILL / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITY / EXPERIENCE:

• ERP system experience (e.g., SyteLine or similar)
• Inventory control and cycle count experience
• Lean manufacturing knowledge (5S, standard work, visual management)
• Forklift certification or experience
• Experience supporting assembly or production operations

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role operates primarily in a heavy manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, fumes, noise, oils, grease, and varying temperatures. Occasional office work may be required. The position is safety-sensitive and requires strict adherence to safety protocols, including PPE such as safety-toe footwear and eye protection.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Frequent standing, walking, bending, and material handling
• Regular use of hands and arms for handling and positioning materials
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Work performed in an environment requiring heightened safety awareness

Hours: Monday through Friday / 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM / Overtime may be required based on business needs before or after shift and/or weekends as needed
