Overview

Our client, a large and reputable company based in Phoenix, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tax Accountant to join their team. This role is a fantastic opportunity to grow your career in corporate tax accounting. The position involves working with income tax, sales tax, and property tax.

Key Responsibilities

• Sales Tax: Prepare and file sales tax returns, manage sales tax audits, and ensure compliance with sales tax regulations across various jurisdictions.
• Property Tax: Assist in the preparation and filing of property tax returns, manage property tax assessments and appeals, and ensure timely payment of property taxes.
• Conduct tax research and stay updated on new tax laws and regulations.
• Assist in the preparation of tax provisions and related financial statement disclosures.
• Provide support during tax audits and respond to tax authorities' inquiries.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather necessary information for tax filings and ensure accuracy in the reporting process.
• Maintain organized records and documentation for all tax-related activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in tax accounting or related field.
• Familiarity with tax preparation software.
