Firmware EngineerOur client, a leading technology organization specializing in server hardware and firmware solutions, is seeking a Firmware Engineer to join their team. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be part of the Software Development Department supporting the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) team.Job Title: Firmware EngineerLocation: Austin, TX (Hybrid role; onsite presence may occasionally be required during product bring-up activities)Pay Range: $57 per hourWhat's the Job?Develop and debug firmware for Baseboard Management Controllers (BMC) in an OpenBMC environmentCollaborate with architects, BIOS developers, vendors, and quality assurance teams to deliver robust firmware releasesParticipate in product bring-up, troubleshooting, and triage activities for new hardware platformsContribute to upstreaming work to the OpenBMC community and improve existing firmware designsEmploy solid software methodologies and manageability design expertise to ensure defect-free, on-schedule firmware deliveryWhat's Needed?3–4+ years of embedded firmware development experienceStrong background in systems engineering and computer systemsExperience with BMC firmware development and open-source firmware platforms like OpenBMCProficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, Python, Shell Scripting, and JavaScriptKnowledge of low-level protocols including I2C, I3C, SPI, JTAG, and familiarity with Linux kernel programming and driver developmentWhat's in it for me?Opportunity to work on cutting-edge server management firmware solutionsCollaborate with a diverse and innovative team of engineersPotential for contract extension or conversion based on performance and project needsWork in a flexible hybrid environment with occasional onsite support during product launchesBe part of a company recognized for its commitment to diversity and ethical practices Experis
